Country reports

Annotation for the Report:

This report is structured into multiple sections that collectively analyze the current state of inclusive education, special education, psychology, and social work training in Visegrad+ (V4) countries, Ukraine, and North Macedonia. It begins with an introduction that outlines the project's objectives, emphasizing the integration of best practices from partner countries to improve inclusive education and behavioral support. The subsequent section delves into the legislative frameworks governing inclusive education in each country, comparing policies and identifying strengths and gaps in implementation. This is followed by an in-depth examination of the training systems for specialists in the fields of education, psychology, and social work, highlighting differences in curricula, accreditation requirements, and professional development opportunities.

A significant portion of the report is dedicated to the development and current status of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) across partner countries, tracing its historical emergence, the recognition of ABA professionals, and challenges in integrating ABA into existing education and social work frameworks. This section also discusses the role of ABA in fostering inclusive education and behavioral support services. To provide a practical perspective, the report includes a qualitative study based on interviews and surveys conducted with educators, psychologists, and social workers from each partner country. The findings from these interactions offer insights into the awareness, accessibility, and effectiveness of ABA training and its implementation in inclusive settings.

The document concludes with a comparative analysis, summarizing key similarities and differences in inclusive education policies, specialist training, and ABA integration across the examined countries. This section also outlines recommendations for future development, emphasizing the need for expanded ABA training, the establishment of national certification standards, policy support, and enhanced collaboration between institutions. By systematically presenting legal, educational, and practical perspectives, the report provides a structured framework for understanding and improving inclusive education and behavioral support across different national contexts.

Training Program

8. - 12.9.2025

Annotation:

Final part of the project, capacity-building activities will be implemented for staff from partner institutions to ensure effective use of the curriculum and e-learning platform. A team of experts will conduct “train-the-trainer” sessions, preparing university lecturers and professionals to integrate applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles into their teaching and professional practice.

The training will combine theoretical instruction with practical, in-person workshops on behavior management techniques aimed at promoting positive behaviors in inclusive educational and social settings. This approach will equip participants with both the knowledge and practical skills needed to foster inclusive practices and improve support for diverse learners.

Curikulum gidebook

Annotation:

This project involves the development of a curriculum designed to enhance existing university courses in V4 countries by integrating applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles for inclusive education. The curriculum covers nine key topics delivered through 19 presentations, each supplemented with guided notes and quizzes to support learning and self-assessment. Content areas include core ABA concepts, skill-building strategies, behavior assessment and management, ethical considerations, and models of disability. It also provides examples of inclusive practices across partner countries and serves as the basis for future e-learning materials aimed at improving professional training in education and social work.

By combining theoretical foundations with practical applications, the curriculum seeks to strengthen the competencies of future professionals in creating effective, ethical, and inclusive learning environments. This approach ensures both academic rigor and practical relevance, supporting long-term improvements in inclusive education across the region.

The curriculum aims to enhance existing courses at partner universities in V4 countries and will serve as the foundation for future e-learning materials.

As part of the preparation of the materials, a Curriculum Guidebook was developed, which will provide instructions for implementing the Curriculum and serve as a roadmap for the course materials.

E-learning courses

Annotation:

The curriculum was adapted into an e-learning course to reach a broader audience of pre-service and in-service teachers, social workers, and other helping professionals. The online course will provide asynchronous learning opportunities through audio and video lectures, presentations, practical examples of protocols, reading materials, and online assessments, ensuring flexible and accessible training.

The e-learning courses are designed to integrate theoretical foundations with practical applications, with the objective of enhancing the competencies of future professionals in creating effective, ethical, and inclusive learning environments. This integrated approach is designed to support both academic rigor and practical relevance, thereby contributing to long-term improvements in inclusive education across the region.
